Alert         Events last year nearly knocked us to our knees.  Almost.             If you don't remember the story, here's a link to the write-up               in the Chicago Tribune.   We could have thrown in the towel right then and there!     Instead we re-committed to our goal to reach as many leading  individuals, community members and groups as possible and to connect them by sharing timely and useful news and information.    Re-building Bronzecomm has been slower and more challenging  than we imagined when we signed up for Constant Contact and  agreed to follow all the rules, regulations and anti-spam policies  they have proscribed.  It's no joke that they protect their (and  mine and your) security with machine-like precision.   Non-compliance is not an option.     We can no longer simply add readers to the list whenever we want.   Now, each individual must go on line to:  www.bronzecomm.com to sign up for themselves and often some are even required to  confirm they are a human being and not a spambot before  registration is completed.  It's a 3-4 step process and hopefully  we're worth it.  Some older readers are turned off by the whole thing and may need a hand or a nudge to comply to Constant Contact's procedures.  Sometimes you may have to do it more than once.  Constant Contact has bugs they are slow to fix.   The fact is the machines are taking over!  And maybe that makes Bronzecomm more important than ever.  We promise to continue to share news and events you may not see anywhere else and to highlight important news that should not be missed.  We don't claim to replace MSM but we do amplify a lot of what's going on right in the communities where we live and work and play.    For a long time, Bronzecomm was reaching tens of thousands of  readers in downtown offices, suburban homes, political headquarters,  businesses, organizations of all kinds, schools, and churches by  email alone.  It was like everybody was getting Bronzecomm  because many people were also passing it on to friends and family.   With Social Media like Facebook, Linked In and Twitter the word  goes out along more channels these days; but we still believe  email provides the most direct and uncluttered connection.   So we campaign constantly for more email subscribers.     Telling your friends our story this month will be a big help.   We want everybody who wants to know what's going on in  Black Chicago to read and share Bronzecomm so that we  may be stronger for it!   Meanwhile, you can help Bronzecomm now by making a  donation of any size, large or small.  It's about survival and your donation will be greatly appreciated.
