What Shall I Do Next?

How often do we ask ourselves that question?
Even more important, how often do we ask ourselves
"What can we do for someone else?"

I don't know about you, but I only know a few people who think like that, my husband Tony being one, a few friends and 2016 Presidential Candidate Dr. Willie Wilson.

Most people in the US may not be aware of all the good Dr. Wilson has done throughout the last three decades,
but rest assured, the families/communities that he's put to work, sent children to school, paid their living expenses, they all knowand love  him, unconditionally!

Sad part about it, is that not enough people know.
You too can get to know him by reading his works.
Google his name.
He's made a great name for his family and community.
You can continue the legacy.
You can make a differece by sharing this info with others!

Until next time,
stay on purpose,
stay empowered,
stay tuned to higher learning!

Chicago Artists Month

Chicago Artists + Arts Organizations are invited to participate in Chicago Artists Month 2015, the 20th annual citywide celebration of our vibrant and diverse arts community.

What is Chicago Artists Month?
Chicago Artists Month (CAM) is open to individual artists and organizations producing events and programs that feature Chicago-based artists in a public venue in Chicago, between October 1 - November 15, 2015. Event categories include: Art Walk/Tour/Festival, Exhibition/Installation, Learning/Making, Open Studio and Performance/Screening. As a marketing initiative of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, CAM showcases the work of Chicago's artists and arts organizations, highlights arts activity in the city's neighborhoods, fosters tourism, encourages collaboration and provides opportunities for creative expression and education for all Chicagoans.

2015 Theme
CAM invites Chicago-based artists, performers, architects, designers, writers and other creatives, as well as arts and community organizations, to respond to the theme The City as Studio - looking at Chicago as a place for innovation and experimentation. Through this theme, CAM 2015 will be in dialog with the inaugural Chicago Architecture Biennial, which is inviting architects and designers from around the world to Chicago this fall. CAM 2015 prioritizes new work, increased public access to high quality art, and collaboration.

How to Participate?
Event proposals will be accepted online only, July 13-24, 2015, at chicagoartistsmonth.org. The application information and criteria is available online now.

Selected proposals will be notified in August, and will then be promoted via a robust marketing campaign. Up to 18 CAM Featured Programs will receive additional technical and financial assistance and be invited to nominate participating Chicago-based artists for selection as the 2015 Featured Artists.

Chicago Artists Month Meet & Greet
June 17, 4-6pm
Chicago Cultural Center
78 E. Washington St.
All those interested in participating in Chicago Artists Month 2015 are invited to an informational and networking event to learn more about this year's program and application.
