WOMEN'S History Month!
Women have come a very long way in the world, especially in America. Women have even run for political office won, and even made a difference.
Noting saddens me more than to see women work twice as hard and recieve less than what men earn. http://www.catalyst.org/knowledge/womens-earnings-and-income
While volunteering on the Chicago 2015 Mayoral Campaign, I noticed the differences across the board from AlderWomen, Commisioners, etc. It was disgusting to see that former Mayor Jane Bryne only got page 8 of the Chicago Sun Times, when a Man would have gotten FRONT PAGE!
Side note: Congratulations to Dr. Willie Wilson for giving Rahm a run for the money! Although you didn't win the race, you made new friends, you showed the world what's possible! Thanks to Dr. Wilson and Chuy Garcia, there is now a run off for Mayor! Never before in the history of Chicago politics has this ever occurred! You made history and Thanks for bringing Chicago Black Media along for the historic ride!
Making a difference is what women do. So why in this new millenium are women still not being compensated for the same work? Is it the powers that be don't see women as equal? Or are they afraid women will one day run this country as others in some foreign countries?
Despite the male ego, women will continue to progress and make significant change in this world. Eventually, women will be compensated fairly. In the meantime, women are already compensated far beyond the value of currency, in ways that men just don't understand. No, it's not a female thing, it's a HUMAN thing!
Be sure and listen to how women are changing the planet on:
